Sitting on deck watching the sun rise over the warm Caribbean sea I am reflecting on how amazing this adventure is. We have had so many challenges and we have learned so much. We have been supported by many people and let down by others. But one of the best things of all has been knowing that people are with us along the journey – reading our blog.
Today it is Chrismas Eve, Mark and I have been on deck checking things and also drying out our Geona. We are going to stow it and have it repaired in Saint Lucia. The plan at the moment is to stay here for our Christmas Eve BBQ on the beach and our Lobster Lunch tomorrow and then leave to go to Saint Anne or Marin and then on to Saint Lucia for New Year. There is a ferry from Rodney Bay to Martinique and Gareth may take that. It is interesting how close all the islands are to each other and a big Aha! Moment for anyone coming here on holiday – you don’t have to be stuck in one place you can so easily island hop.
Last night we watched About Time – which was the perfect Richard Curtis film for the Christmas holidays – who doesn’t love a Richard Curtis movie during Christmas. We were delighted that none of us had seen this one and it was a funny and sentimental and perfect. It did make us reflect on a lot of things too which is good.
This year has been so tricky we have decided to donate to a Caribbean childrens charity instead of sending cards and gifts to friends and family. We have chose the Jermain Defoe foundation.
We wish you all a very, very happy Christmas and thank you all so very very, very much for supporting us. The blog will continue as we travel on and the plan is to return home (what ever that is!) in the Spring. We will have Magic delivered back to Europe – somewhere – perhaps Barcelona or Lagos …not sure just yet – watch this space!
