20 days to go (ish)

After 4 months of planning and waiting we can now see the end of the tunnel. It has certainly been a significant challenge. We have needed all our project management skills and we are not finished yet but we have our crew and we are planning to leave in early June to sail around to Barcelona.
Magic will have new Running Rigging and new Standing Rigging and totally new paint – the paint has been a nightmare and is still not resolved – but we know that the only way out is through.
The sustaining things have been:

1 Remembering that this is one huge middle class problem – “oh my yacht is being repaired and we are stranded in the Algarve!”
2.Being grateful we had the skills and the time to deal with this
3.Our friends and family at home
4.Our friends in Lagos marina
6.The weather and the beauty in the Algarve
7.The Music – It has been wonderful to build courage in singing and enjoy music with so many talented musicians – Karioke holds no fears for me any more!!
8.Learning more – about the boat, about sailing, about resiliance, about each other, about Marina life, about living aboard, about navigation, about first aid, about project management, about being on the hard, about rigging, about paint, about repairs…., about people
about resolve
about focus
about holding on to your dream even if you think it is getting way to hard

we are nearly there
